By the Water
Drawn to the communities that live and work along rivers, harbors, and coastlines, I began spending extended time in places shaped by their proximity to the water. As I travel through towns built around fishing, tourism, and industry, each revealed its own relationship to the water and the shifting conditions that define it.
I became increasingly interested in how these communities carried their histories forward. In working waterfronts and small coastal communities, I found traces of past economies and the constant balance between stability and uncertainty. This project grew from documenting those places and the people who continue to build their lives by the water.
